Purrson was found as a stray, limping and severely underweight. Once in the care of the Shelter, he immediately responded positively to physical contact by head-butting, rubbing against his handlers and soliciting pets. However, exhibiting such a happy disposition could not hide the fact Purrson was in pain, needing a femoral head ostectomy (FHO) to his hind leg (funded by Friends). An FHO is a surgical procedure that removes the head and neck of a cat’s thighbone to stop painful bone-on-bone contact and restore mobility.

Less than a month later, Purrson simultaneously fully recovered from his surgery and found his new family. What started as a tough, painful winter blossomed into a healthy and happy spring for Purrson and his adopters!
