In August 2022, a family spotted a kitten (feral at the time) taking up residence in their backyard. Although they were leaving food for him, they knew the responsible thing to do was to have him neutered and vaccinated. Thankfully the Shelter came to mind!
Ben (nee Sock Bin), a senior cat in excellent health, was transferred to Fairfax from the Loudoun County Animal Shelter. Simply needing some restorative dental work, Friends came to his aid with the necessary funding to cover his procedure. Soon after, Ben found his forever home as the newest furry member of his adoptive family. He has acclimated well, spending his days sleeping, eating, and kneading many, many biscuits with his “happy toes.” Although he’s still cautious around his senior cat brother, enjoys lots of attention from his human sisters. His family noted, “We want to thank the Fairfax County Animal Shelter and [Friends] for their care and services for Ben and all of the other animals. In particular, [thanks] to [Friends] covering the cost of Ben’s necessary dental work to remove damaged teeth. He’s healed from the procedure and is now enjoying a life of ‘retirement’ as a part of our family!”
