Howie (née Dell) was barely a month-old stray when he came to the shelter with a fractured jaw, conjunctivitis, and upper respiratory symptoms. After a successful surgery and his eyes and breathing cleared, vets determined Howie also had upper eyelid “agenesis” where part of his eyelid never developed. But that hasn’t slowed him down! Howie’s fun-loving personality came through not only with the shelter staff but with the Chief of the Fairfax County Police Department who named him one of two “#ChiefsChoice” designees for July 2024. So it’s no wonder that he soon found his forever home. Howie’s owners describe him as “a funny little guy” who loves playing with springs and water (!) and never turns down a treat. He is an affectionate kitty and the perfect addition to his new family!
