Fresa, now Rosebud is a senior chihuahua who was found in Alexandria. At 10 years, she has some typical ailments of a lady of her age but specifically needs care for some severe dental disease which Friends covered. Thankfully, someone with a heart of gold saw beyond her years and ailments to her loving, playful self and adopted her!

“Rosie has settled right in and is simply a delight. She immediately bonded with me and  shadows me around the house, when not on my lap. She is affectionate, playful, protective, silly, and so very sweet.”

Her mom noted, “I adopted Rosie because I wanted to offer hospice to an older dog with health issues.”  Thanks to FCAS, Rosie’s parents had a full medical workup of her health challenges, some of which you’d never notice given her positive disposition. “While she may have a ‘hitch in her giddy up’ due to arthritis, back and knee issues, or may be missing most of her teeth (and part of her jaw), and loves a long nap, she wakes up happy, full of joy and playfulness, and she is loved. I highly recommend adopting older pets.”
