Walter came into the Shelter as a stray with an apparent traumatic tail amputation and a severe eye infection (the eye already presented with microphthalmia, a birth defect which results in an abnormally small and often non-functioning eye). Luckily both his eye and tail healed well enough to not require surgery. After some much needed dental (covered by Friends!), Walter was ready for his next chapter!
Walter was adopted in July 2025 at which point he very quickly made himself an integral part of his new mom’s life and her best friend. Says mom, “He is now living the fully spoiled life that he deserves. He loves to run around and play like he’s still a little kitten despite being about 8 years old.” He loves to snuggle and get pets, and his favorite past time is sunning in the window while people-watching. He’s smart as a whip, loves to solve treat puzzles, and doesn’t let his missing eye slow him in the slightest. “I couldn’t be happier having him in my life!”
