Optimistic Ophelia

Ophelia, formerly Storm, is a purr-fect fit in her new home! At just four months old, she was surrendered, requiring surgery for a broken leg. Thanks to the support of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter, she was able to have the surgery she needed, setting her up for a lifetime of success.

Perfect Penny

This lucky Penny has gone to her forever home! Penny, formerly Golidie, received support from the Friends community, providing funding for her needed consultation with specialists to determine if a non-cancerous mass needed to be removed. Since getting the needed treatment, she’s been living her best life with no signs of breathing issues!

Gracious Ginger Rogers

In September 2023 through astute observations and an intervention of a local vet and the Fairfax County Animal Protection Police (APP) Ginger Rogers (new name), small Maltipoo (Maltese and Poodle mix), a four month, 4lb puppy was surrendered to the Fairfax County Department of Animal Sheltering (FCAS). She was immediately transferred to Pender Veterinary Centre (practice used by FCAS) for emergency surgery to save her shattered left rear limb.

Outstanding Olive

Olive, formally Nala, has settled in well to her forever home! She required extensive dental care after being found on a hiking trail in Northern Virginia. The extent of the dental disease was so extreme that she ended up needing all of her teeth removed. Thanks to the support of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter, she was able to have the surgery she needed, setting her up for a much more comfortable future.

Outstanding Odin

Outstanding Odin is a kitty who needed some help and found her forever home. This older cat came to the Fairfax County Animal Shelter in need os some serious assistance, and thankfully Friends was able to provide the funding needed to help Odin (known as Julian at the time) to get dental cleaning and extractions, as well as eye surgery, and even liver test.
